Welcome to the Gillis Home Page
We feel that family is the greatest blessing that God can bestow upon someone and so we wanted to share our family with yours. Matt and I married March 27, 1999 and we have 5 daughters Vada, Brynna, Tea, Moira, and Ambria and 2 sons Kyan and Aslan. The twins, Aslan and Ambria, were born October 16th and will soon be 3 months old. Matt works at a company that refurbishes computers and I am now a stay-at-home-mom after a couple of years as a software technician. I am researching for a novel I plan to write one of these days. Please check out our site to learn more about our kids and our lifestyle.

Happy New Year's, Everyone!!!!

Happy Birthday Tea and Moira!! Moira will be 5 on January 16th and Tea will be 6 on January 29th. I still haven't thought of what to do to celebrate. Last year no one had any parties because of how busy everything was.

Happy Birthday Grayson!! Grayson will be 1 year old on February the 10th. That's my nephew if anyone's wondering.

Happy Birthday Matt!!

News Corner

Twins Are Here! Ambria Mackenzie and Aslan Charles were born October 16th at 9:21pm and 9:23pm respectively. They were born at exactly 35 weeks. Ambria weighed 5lbs1oz and was 18 and 1/4 inches long and Aslan weighed 5lbs13oz and was 18 and 3/4 inches long. They were both healthy and needed no NICU time. The came home from the hospital with us on the 19th. They are getting so big now. They are almost 3 months old and at their 2 month checkup Ambria was 9lbs6oz and Aslan was 10lbs6oz. Life is certainly busier with these two around.

Christmas Holidays almost gone! The 3 oldest girls are spending the last week of Christmas holidays with my mom. I have the 4 youngest at home. I thought it would be quieter and it is but only at naptime. The kids have been doing so well in school that I have to brag a little. Both Brynna and Tea were voted student of the month for their grades. Vada had her artwork chosen for an exhibit at the Board of Education, and Moira was a reindeer in their preschool Christmas play.

Matt is staying really busy at work as usual. He is such an amazing father and husband. He is so excited about the twins. He's finding out how much work babies are for the first time though. With me nursing all the others he never had to wake up at night. Now with two sometimes he has to get up and help. Also, I had an appendectomy a few weeks ago and was in the hospital for 3 days. He had to handle everyone while I was there. I think he has a whole new respect for what I do.

I am trying to get well. Exactly 8 weeks after the c-section I went to the ER and had to have an emergency appendectomy. I was then told in recovery that as soon as it was a good time for me I needed to have my gallbladder removed. I'm still trying to decide what sounds like a good time for yet another surgery. I'm adjusting ok to having 2 babies this time although the idea of multitasking has taken on a multitude of new meanings.

Kyan is handling new babies even better than I imagined. No real jealousy at all. He seems a little apathetic most of the time but he's very protective of them when company comes around. If anyone is having a hard time it's the dog. Isaiah is terrified of them although lately he is getting a little less skittish. We got rid of both our birds when the babies came. It was just way too much work and noise.

Tea, Brynna, and Vada had all their hair cut off to donate to Locks of Love. I haven't sent it off yet because I wanted to get pictures of them with their ponytails. They are very excited to do something for someone else not to mention get snazzy new do's.
